For the past 6 years, Firefighters on a Mission has been running marathons, bringing awareness and helping those with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Our mission began with firefighter Tim Petz, running the 2015 NYC Marathon after he and his wife learned their son had this terrible disease. At the time of Logan’s diagnosis, they decided to take action. Inspired by their efforts a team of firefighters, who refused to let them fight alone, established Firefighters on a Mission.
Sunday, November 7, 2021 will be a memorable 6th race for Team Logan & Firefighters on a Mission. Tim will be running with a “pack” of fellow firefighters in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, and joined by another Duchenne-Dad Firefighter Ricardo Garcia.
The goal in most every race is to cross the finish line in the shortest amount of time. With Logan and all those fighting against Duchenne, that goal is everything – because when it comes to finding a cure, these children are truly in a race against time.
While the Disney Half Marathon is guaranteed to be full of special moments, the most impactful will be with those we meet along the way. If you feel compelled to do so, you can help Team Logan & Firefighters on a Mission #ExtinguishDuchenne, by making a tax-deductible donation and/or sharing our story.
On behalf of Team Logan and Firefighters on a Mission we thank you! We promise to continue the fight until we have a cure.
With love and gratitude,
Team Logan
